This private first floor apartment is furnished with a double and single bed, and recently painted and redecorated. It is situated in a secure walled garden setting, and is an easy five minute walk to town where you can enjoy shopping, socializing, and restaurants any time.
This comfortable apartment has a small kitchen with stove/oven and fridge, its own covered porch, and a view the Lake Atitlan volcanoes. The short walk to town makes it easy for shopping and activities, but far enough for quiet nights. The doors and windows and kitchen for this apartment were hand built by me, having been a cabinetmaker in the states for 25 years. The matrimonial bed is provided with 100% cotton sheets, and the bathroom, with 24 hour hot water from a brass rain shower head, quality towels, and complimentary shampoo and soap for stays less than a week. There’s also a single bed that serves as another couch during the day and to sleep a third person. We also provide unlimited filtered water.

Exceptional location for the discerning traveler! A beautiful oasis away from the noise amongst tropical foliage. Carlos is the consummate host, making sure your visit to San Marcos is a highlight.Rooms are fitted out wonderfully with great showers(reliable hot water) and very nice kitchen ! We feel luck to have met Carlos .

Lovely stay, 100% recommend. A little sanctuary 5 min walk up on the hill, close enough for convenience but far away enough for quietness. Warm shower, clean apartment, everything you need in the kitchen, and a nice little terrace outside. Overall brilliant!

We had a fantastic stay in San Marcos! The house where we stayed was beautiful and clean, surrounded by wonderful greenery and was very private. The property is within a big wall, so it feels very safe in the home. It’s a 5 minute walk to the restaurants on the main strip in a the very small town of San Marcos and has a fully functioning kitchen which was great for us because we love to cook for ourselves (also has a blender for morning smoothies or afternoon margaritas!) Carlos was super easy to communicate with and was extremely friendly whenever we bumped into each other. Great stay, would return in a heartbeat. Thanks again!
….it’s close to the Yoga Forest
Super cosy place in the woods, 10min walk to the Main Street of San Marcos. Carlos met us at this restaurant (blind lemon) and showed us our beautiful studio with a nice garden. It is not on the Main Street and it gets dark at night to go back, but there is a torch you can take with you. Carlos also helped with practical stuff when needed and was very welcoming. I would really recommend this place if you want a quiet place in San Marcos, and if you’re up for yoga it’s close to the Yoga Forest.
I felt fully safe staying there alone

We’ve known Carlos for years. His restaurant, Blind Lemons, has always been a favorite when we are in town. This was the first time we’ve rented from him. We should have stayed with him years ago! His houses (we saw several of them this trip) are all beautiful, clean, stylish, well equipped, and very safe. He bends over backwards to accommodate his guests and provide personal touches to make your stay perfect. AND he has hot water and reliable internet when most of the rest of town doesn’t!! Stay with Carlos!
I knew I was somewhere special
From the moment I passed through the front gate I knew I was somewhere special. The grounds are beautiful and Carlos is a very welcoming soul, quick with a laugh & full of many years of experience in San Marcos. The location is great, hidden away in the jungle but still close to town. Such a peaceful place to go back to at the end of a day of exploration. Will definitely look forward to returning again one day.
The apartment is located inside a secure walled garden and has wifi internet access and guests can use the washing machine and covered clothes lines. There's a wonderful private garden to enjoy, and often other guests staying with me in the house, or the other apartment, from all destinations, to chat and exchange information with. We can meet you at the public dock, or at Blind Lemon's Restaurant in the central area of San Marcos to help you with your luggage, or even arrange transportation from the airport in Guatemala City if you like.
